View practical learning progress

Open the Progress tab for a Course Offering to see derived student completion from attempts, submissions, feedback, and lab or simulation results.

Last reviewed: 28 August 2026

Before you begin

  • Your institution must have Practical Learning available.
  • You need an active Academic Enrolment (students) or a Teaching Assignment / offering administration access (teaching staff) on the Course Offering.
  • Progress is derived from existing activity — it does not replace attempts, submissions, or grades.

Steps for students

  1. Open Institution Workspace and go to your Course Offering.
  2. Open the Progress section.
  3. Review your learning record: status, completion percentage, started and completed activities, feedback received, and journey completion.
  4. Scan recent progress events for starts, submissions, feedback, and corrections.

Steps for teaching staff

  1. Open Institution Workspace and go to the Course Offering.
  2. Open the Progress section.
  3. Review the offering summary and each student record scoped to Academic Enrolment.
  4. Choose Recalculate when a student record needs to be rebuilt from source activity. Corrections are recorded in the progress ledger.

What this does not do

Progress is not a second gradebook. Canonical outcomes remain on attempts, submissions, Assessment Reviews, and lab or simulation results. Notifications and the Activity stream remain separate surfaces.
