1. Purpose

This Acceptable Use Policy sets standards for lawful, professional, and secure use of the AppliedMode Platform by all users, including institution staff, instructors, students, and administrators.

2. General Expectations

Users must act with integrity, respect institutional rules, protect confidential information, and use Platform features only for legitimate educational and administrative purposes.

3. Prohibited Behaviour

The following activities are prohibited:

• attempting to gain unauthorised access to accounts, tenants, APIs, or infrastructure;
• sharing credentials or circumventing authentication or permission controls;
• conducting vulnerability scans, penetration tests, or disruptive security research without prior written authorisation from AppliedMode;
• introducing malware, harmful code, or tools designed to damage or monitor systems without consent;
• using the Platform to distribute spam, phishing, or unsolicited bulk messages;
• harassing, threatening, or discriminating against others;
• uploading or distributing unlawful, obscene, or defamatory material;
• infringing intellectual property or privacy rights of others;
• interfering with Platform availability or other users' legitimate use.

4. Academic Misconduct

Users must comply with institutional academic integrity policies. Prohibited conduct includes plagiarism, unauthorised collaboration, impersonation in assessments, fabrication of results, and misuse of proctoring or assessment tools.

Institutions are responsible for investigating academic misconduct and applying appropriate sanctions under their own policies.

5. Content Standards

Uploaded materials must be appropriate for an educational environment and must not contain illegal content or material that exposes others to unreasonable risk.

6. Monitoring and Enforcement

AppliedMode may monitor use for security, abuse prevention, and service integrity. We may suspend or restrict access, remove content, or escalate matters to institutions where violations occur or where required by law.

7. Reporting Concerns

Security concerns should be reported according to our Security Statement. Other misuse may be reported to your institution administrator or to abuse@appliedmode.com.
