Monitor student progress and record follow-ups

Use the Course Offering Progress tab to review attention needs and record follow-ups for students.

Last reviewed: 28 August 2026

Before you begin

  • Your institution must have Practical Learning available.
  • You need an active Teaching Assignment (or offering administration access) for the Course Offering.
  • Open Institution Workspace → Course Offerings → [offering] → Progress.

What you can see

On the Progress tab, teaching staff can review:

  1. Offering progress counts (including students needing attention).
  2. Attention needs such as overdue work, missing submissions, inactive students, awaiting feedback, and lab issues.
  3. Open follow-ups already recorded for students.
  4. Student records and recent progress events.

You may optionally filter by Class Group. If your Teaching Assignment is limited to one Class Group, monitoring stays within that group.

Record a follow-up

  1. In Attention needs, open the student who needs contact or action.
  2. Enter a short follow-up note.
  3. Choose a reason when helpful.
  4. Select Record follow-up.

The note is stored against the student’s Academic Enrolment in that Course Offering. It is for teaching staff; it does not replace Announcements or submission feedback.

Clear a follow-up

  1. Open Open follow-ups.
  2. Select Clear follow-up when the action is complete.
