Create activity definitions

Before you begin

Activity Definitions describe reusable practical work for a Course Offering, such as an exercise, lab, simulation, assignment, quiz, or project. Your institution must enable Practical Learning, and you need teaching authority on the offering (or institution administration access).

Definitions are configuration only. Use Activity Instances to schedule or publish work for students when Practical Learning is enabled.

Steps

1. Open Institution Workspace and go to the Course Offering.
2. Open the Activities section.
3. Choose New Activity Definition.
4. Enter a clear title, choose the type, and optionally add a short description.
5. Save as draft.
6. When the definition is ready for reuse, choose Activate.
7. Use Archive when a definition should no longer be used for new work.

Student visibility

Students with an active Academic Enrolment can see active Activity Definitions for the Course Offering. Draft and archived definitions stay hidden from students.
