Work through Research Laboratory studios
Move from topic selection to thesis assembly across Studios 1–11 in Learning Experience.
Before you begin
- Your institution has attached the Research Laboratory to your course offering.
- You are enrolled and can open Learning Experience for that offering.
- Studios unlock in order. Finish each studio’s required fields, list items (where shown), and checklist before Complete studio.
Stages
- Frame the inquiry — Topic Selection, Literature Review, Research Problem, Research Objectives
- Design the study — Methodology, Questionnaire, Sampling, Ethics Review
- Analyse and report — Data Analysis, Discussion & Findings, Thesis Assembly & Submission
Questionnaire Builder and Sampling Studio both unlock after Methodology Designer. Ethics Review needs both of those finished.
Steps
- Open the course in Learning Experience.
- Launch Research Laboratory from Labs.
- On the hub, open the next unlocked studio with Start studio or Continue studio.
- Save your studio work, add any required list items (for example readings or questionnaire items), then save the checklist.
- In Literature Review, you may attach an optional PDF or Word source file with each reading (stored privately for your offering).
- Use Download PDF or Download DOCX on a studio page when you want a copy of your work.
- Choose Complete studio (or Submit for lecturer review when your offering requires approval) to return to the hub.
- If a lecturer requests revision, open the studio again, update your work, and resubmit.
- After Thesis Assembly & Submission is finished (and approved when required), use Review studio to reopen completed work.
Tips
- Keep your topic and problem consistent across studios — the hub is one continuous Research Workspace.
- If a studio shows Locked, complete the studios named in the progress line first. Topic, ethics, or final submit may also wait on lecturer approval.
- Attached literature files are available only through the Research Laboratory download link — they are not public URLs.
